BAS Training Program History

Section 3 Textbox

“The Siemens Foundation is advancing its mission to narrow the opportunity gap for young people in the United States in STEM careers by launching a new workforce training program to fill skilled positions in the intelligent buildings industry in collaboration with Siemens Building Technologies and the Association of Controls Professionals (ACP).

Together, the organizations will create community college training programs and develop career pathways into local K-12 systems, both aligned to new, non-proprietary industry certifications under development by ACP. This innovative program will focus on reaching traditionally underserved or underrepresented student communities and providing them the opportunity to excel in a software-driven field.”

The development of career pathways from K-12 through community college, leading to high-quality certificate, will help address this gap and grow the diversity of individual who have an opportunity to receive training, compete for these jobs and earn a competitive salary.

The Future of Building Automation Systems and AV Integration

Section 4 Textbox

As we peer into the horizon of building technology, the integration of Building Automation Systems and Audio-Visual technology presents an exciting vista of possibilities. Here’s a glimpse into the promising future of this convergence:

Sensory Perception and Context Awareness

Tomorrow’s BAS and AV systems will possess heightened sensory capabilities. They will perceive occupancy, temperature, and lighting levels, and even interpret facial expressions. This context awareness will enable a truly immersive and adaptive environment.

Holographic Interfaces

Imagine walking into a room where information is projected in mid-air, or virtual elements seamlessly blend with the physical environment. BAS and AV integration will bring holographic interfaces to life, revolutionizing how we interact with our surroundings.

Biofeedback Integration

BAS and AV systems of the future will tune into occupants’ physiological signals. By reading heart rate, body temperature, and stress levels, spaces will dynamically adjust to enhance comfort, focus, and overall well-being.

Blockchain-powered Security

Security will be a paramount concern. Future integration will see the implementation of blockchain technology to safeguard data and communications, ensuring robust protection against cyber threats.

Sustainable Smart Buildings

The future of BAS-AV integration will be inherently green. Systems will be hyper-aware of energy usage and environmental impact, dynamically optimizing operations to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

Global Connectivity and Interoperability

The future will see BAS and AV systems seamlessly integrate with a global network of smart devices and systems. This interoperability will create a truly connected world, where buildings communicate with smart cities and infrastructures in real time.

Personalized Virtual Assistants

Occupants will have their personalized virtual assistants, accessible through voice or AR interfaces. These assistants will seamlessly interface with BAS and AV systems, providing a highly personalized and intuitive user experience.

These are exciting times!!! Fun Training and Great Income Potential!!

Leveraging AV Trends for BAS

Section 6 Textbox

In the evolving world of building technology, the combination of Audio trends and Building Automation Systems presents great opportunities. Let’s explore how we can harness the AV trends to enhance BAS:

AI-Powered Automation

The implementation of AI-driven technologies in AV is revolutionizing how systems respond to user behavior and environmental conditions. By integrating AI into BAS we enable buildings to learn and adapt, optimizing energy usage and creating environments for occupants.

Voice and Gesture Controls

Controlling AV systems has become more intuitive with the advent of voice assistants and gesture recognition. By extending these interfaces to BAS occupants can effortlessly interact with their surroundings adjusting lighting, climate control, and through spoken commands or gestures.

Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality

Immersive technologies like AR and VR are not limited to entertainment anymore. They can be effectively utilized in building design and maintenance processes. This includes features such as walkthroughs, real-time data overlays, and training simulations for BAS technicians.

Energy Efficiency through AV Analytics

Advanced AV systems now offer robust analytics capabilities that provide insights into usage patterns and equipment performance. When integrated with BAS this data empowers building managers to make decisions based on data for optimizing energy consumption.

Cybersecurity and Network Convergence

As AV systems become increasingly interconnected it is crucial to prioritize cybersecurity measures to ensure protection against threats. By utilizing the up-to-date practices, in AV cybersecurity BAS can experience the advantages of a network infrastructure that protects against potential threats.

Welcome to the Building Automation System's Community

Welcome Section 1 Textbox

We’re happy you are here. You’ve just made the first step in helping our environment, while helping your future self.

Here’s the story…..Currently, buildings are a major source of harmful GHG Emissions!

  • Buildings currently contribute close to 40% of Global Green House Gas Emissions.
  • Today’s high-performance buildings place new skill and knowledge demands on facility managers, building operators, engineers, equipment installers, and other onsite technicians.
  • Skill deficiencies among these professionals can prevent high- performance buildings from delivering on their promise, adversely impacting their energy savings, indoor environmental quality, cost effectiveness, and long-term viability.

To be less harmful to our environment, there is a new movement towards smarter buildings and a smarter grid.

This has created a need for a NEW OCCUPATIONAL ECOSYSTEM and this new profession needs expertise in computer science, electrical and mechanical engineering.

In other words, we need YOU!!
