Our Mission

Our mission is fulfilled through the four pillars of our C.A.R.E initiative.

The C in care is for connecting families (fathers and father figures with children).

A is for accountability. We believe in the power of holding fathers accountable as positive reinforcement to ensure families stay connected.

R is for resources, and

E is for education. Providing easily accessible support, information, training, workshops, mentorship, and skill-building helps keep fathers and father figures confident, engaged, and better equipped to serve and provide for children and families.

Our Meetings & Events

Parental Addiction

When a family member struggles with addiction, children feel shame, embarrassment, guilt, and loneliness.

Watch this video Sesame Street: in Communities: Parental Addiction

"Meet Salia!"

After watching this video, ask your self these questions:

  • How does Salia explain what addiction is?
  • How is Salia’s family the same as your family? How is it different?
  • What does Salia do when she has big feelings?
  • How does she meditate? Let’s watch again and try it together.
  • Why is drawing and writing about her feelings important to Salia?
  • What does her family like to do together? What do you like to do with your family?

When a family member struggles with addiction, the whole family struggles. Children often think it’s their fault; they feel shame, embarrassment, guilt, and loneliness; they may feel invisible. It takes special effort to start important conversations and answer children’s questions. But parents, teachers, caregivers, and other caring adults can comfort children and guide them through difficult moments. With love and support, the family can cope with the challenges of addiction together.

This will be a discussion topic soon. Watch for the meeting notice!

What is #Dadication?

It’s just like dedication, but it means that as a father, you never stop being a dad. There’s no one right way as long as you’re there for your kids, even when it’s not so easy. There's no right way to be a dad. The most important  thing is being there for your children. Research has shown that having an active involved father in a household contributes strongly to better overall outcomes for the entire family, especially the children.  Check this out!  #Dadication!
